Care and Maintenance
of
Your New Paint Job

Your new paint job is a basecoat clearcoat paint and is comprised of a color coat & a
urethane clearcoat or top coat, this urethane top coat is very durable and resistant to
most chemicals once fully cured, though the curing process takes a while to complete
depending on the weather. Temperature and humidity are factors. It can be from 3
months to a year for a full cure. Proper care in this cure period is critical.

The first few times you wash your vehicle you should wet the vehicle with cold clear
water from a garden hose (car wash not recommeded for the first few washes).
With a soft clean sponge and a mild soap (Dawn dish soap or the like) gently wash
vehicle rinse before allowing to dry. Use a clean damp (wrung out) chamois to dry
vehicle. The reason to chamois vehicle dry is urethane cures faster with exposure to
water and if the water droplets are allowed to dry on vehicle they will make
permanent spots in the paint. This spotting will not occur after a couple of washings.

Do not wax vehicle for at least one year. No wax of any kind should be applied to
vehicle for this period, not liquid wax like at a car wash nor any other types of
waxes, the reason for this is because if wax is applied to uncurred urethane it will
seal in the solvents and block the curing action and will cause the finish to lose it's
shine and become dull. If you follow these simple steps your new paint job will last
you a very long time. If you have any questions or problems please let me know.
